The Creative Success Manager

 Here we are...

There has been a change happening all around us. We have all been effected. Some of us have even participated in that change. A few of us are interested in getting more involved. However, not all of us are aware.

The change is in work culture. COVID has shifted what companies are beginning to offer their employees, all in an effort to increase job satisfaction and at the end of the day better performance. I remember this cartoon episode of the Jetson's when I was in middle school.

[George enters his luxury, upscale home in the clouds]

(George): These three-hour work days are killing me!

What I found funny about that scene was how absurd it seemed to me at the time. I was around 10 years old. I knew work days were 8-5. It seemed impossible that one could ever work only three hours a day.

Fast-forward to 2021.

I now firmly believe it is possible. And it is coming for everyone. The first, however, will be those ready to enter the tech sector. Especially the SAAS sector of the tech world.

I'm on the cusp of that transition. Yet it seems just outside my grasp. I've never had a problem seeking and acquiring a job. BUT that was when job searching was localized. Remote jobs are national and even global. The competition is fierce, and the standards are high. It is so important to choose a specific job role that not only interests you but highlights your skills and strengths.

I've decided that Customer Success Manager is it for me. Now the journey begins. I know I won't easily get this role. It will take time, persistence, resiliency, and dedication.

I've also decided to niche down even more in this role since I believe that my experience as a creator and business owner for the past 10 years as well as my role as a business advisor will allow me to provide the most value to other creators. This is the beginning, and I plan on using this blog to demonstrate each skill I learn and demonstrate my ability to understand it as a future Creative Success Manager.

Now let's return to my original point, the three-hour work day. It's my belief that as a millennial we have the most diverse skill set among any other generation in modern history. We have survived not one, but three modern catastrophes. After every event we have seen an explosion of innovation. But this recent catastrophe has changed how we see our lives. We are tired of the expectations and way of life that are parents and grandparents created. We want control of our lives. That is why remote work and the creator economy will take hold and allow us to live a three-hour work day. Maybe not this year or the next but within the next decade.
